Growing the entrepreneurial business requires being able to change the business while continuing to run the business.
Leverage your time and resources effectively with the AIM Master in Entrepreneurship (ME) program.
In the ME, your business is your laboratory and your learning is tested not by examinations but through real-life applications. The AIM ME is not just about education, it is about building capacity—for you and your business.
Real-time learning. Practical approaches. Immediate application.
As an entrepreneur, you know that most businesses do not make it past the first four years. In fact, depending on the country and industry, the failure rate in the first 18 months alone can range from 30% to 80%. Studies show that, even for those who do make it past the so-called death valley of the first four years, the vision of growing into a truly successful, sustainable enterprise eludes many. Study after study confirms what successful entrepreneurs know. One of the most important contributing factors to the success or failure of an enterprise lies in the capabilities and managerial experience of the entrepreneurial leader.
Moreover, studies show that even for successful enterprises, the inflection points—those opportunities for transition—the moments when enterprises face a window for explosive growth require the bridging of a competency gap. This gap is the difference between what can currently be done and what needs to be done. The challenge for businesses at an inflection point is to find a way to learn how to change the business while still running the business. Entrepreneurs need a practical approach to learning and capacity-building, one grounded on evidence and in current reality, but also delivered in a manner that allows them to create immediate business impact.
The ME does not involve examinations or essays. Instead, learning is strengthened and evaluated through practical applications to the entrepreneur’s individual and business goals. In the 18 months of the program, the entrepreneur is guided through a step-by-step process of strengthening the enterprise in preparation for a planned growth trajectory. Instead of a thesis, the ME culminates with a five-year personal plan, and a five-year business plan.
